Drilling mud with invaded gas flow into the gas mud separator via inlet pipe. Fall down to a number of baffle plates designed in the vessel. Or there will be a upside down hopper to create the falling down and collision. Collision increases the exposed surface and downward flow resulting in turbulent flow then gas and fluid separated. Free gas discharged via degasser vent line. The exhaust pipe will transit gas to safe place for ignition. Drilling mud after the degassing will flow into the circulation mud tank.
