Slurry pump brief introduction

Slurry pump is used to transport solids liquid mixture. Solid  liquid pump has many types, including centrifugal type, screw-type, mixed flow type.

Actually, the slurry pump is a kind of centrifugal solids liquid pump, it applies to conveying solids liquid mixing with strong corrosive characteristics and containing hard solids particles.

Some reasons for abnormal operation of slurry pump

First, the slurry pump does not absorb water

There are many reasons may cause submersible slurry pump doesn’t absorb water, the main causes include: suction pipe is blocked and impellers are damaged, to solve these two problems the main methods are: clean up the blockages in the suction pipe and repair or replace the impellers.

Second, the slurry pump power is too large

Main causes of submersible slurry pump power too large include: excessive packing compression, pump friction, bearing damaged and too large fluid flow, the four problems solving methods are: relax packing gland bolts, adjust the pump internal clearance, repair or replace damaged bearings, adjust pump operation.

Third, slurry pump bearing heating

Causes of submersible slurry pump bearings heating are generally derived from lubricants and bearings, including lubricants are not clean, lubricants in bearings are too much or too little, bearings damaged, etc. Methods of excluding bearing heating faults are: use clean lubricants, add lubricants for the bearings based upon requirements, repair or replace bearings.
