Mud agitator contains electrical motor, coupler, gear box, shaft, impeller and control panel as option. The control panel is to start or stop electrical motor for mud agitator. The shaft with impeller will rotate 60 or 72 rpm to agitate drilling mud and avoid solids settling down. The shaft length will be fixed as per mud tank depth and impeller diameter will be depending on drilling mud conditions and motor power. Main Parts Of Mud Agitator

1. Electrical motor. Depending on working area, clients will require different standards for motor like IECEX certified, ATEX certified, UL certified, etc. Once confirmed motor standard, different brand of motor with very different price with different reputation.
2. Gear box. The standard gear box is worm and gear type, but there are bevel gear for option for better performance and limit foot print but higher price.
3. There are supplier supply mud agitator with or without coupler between electrical motor and gear box. It’s lower cost if without coupler but good protection with coupler.
4. Shaft and impeller. It is standard carbon steel material for shaft and impeller but steel material is available for option.

From top man parts introduction, the mud agitator can be different price from different supplier because of different brand or standard. Many solids control equipments manufacturer build only shaft and impeller because motor, gear box, coupler all can be sourced from mature manufacturers. To keep quality of mud agitator, buyer will need keep an eye on manufacturer of all the main parts instead of only focus on solids control manufacturer brand.
