1.Bowl

The bowl is one of the main components of horizontal decanter centrifuge. Its structural shape and technical parameters directly relate to the type and use effect of the centrifuge. The most frequently used horizontal decanter centrifuge adopts the cylindrical or conical bowl.

The solids-liquids separation for suspension liquid is completed in the bowl. The depth of the liquids in the bowl is adjusted through the overflow baffle. The deeper the liquid is, the better the liquid clarification effect is. The processing amount is large too. But the water content of the sediment is higher.

2.Screw conveyor

As one of the main components of horizontal decanter centrifuge, the screw conveyor can convey the accumulated solids to the solids outer for discharge. Its structure, material and technical parameters concern not only the processing capacity and working lifetime of the centrifuge but also the solids discharge efficiency and separation effect directly. The barrel of the screw conveyor is installed on the bearing with the bowl concentrically. The rotary profile formed by the edge of the flight of the screw conveyor is usually same as the internal profile of the bowl. To convey the sediment settled on the inner surface of the bowl, the screw conveyor and the bowl rotate with the same direction but different rotating speed to form the speed difference which is generally 0.3% to 0.4% of the rotating speed of bowl. The differential speed is achieved by the differential.

Generally, the screw conveyor consists of helical screw blade which is called flight, barrel, feed cavity, journals at small and big end ,etc. According to the difference of the pitch blended type. The screw pitch of the gradient pitch type screw conveyor decrease gradually from the big end to the small end of the bowl. The sediment can suffer both the radial centrifugal force and biaxial extrusion action from the screw conveyor. 3.Differential system

In the horizontal decanter centrifuge, the conveyance of the sediment is achieved through the differential to keep the relative differential speed between the screw conveyor and the bowl. The differential is the most complicated and important component of the horizontal decanter centrifuge. Its performance and quality determine whether the horizontal decanter centrifuge can work normally and reliably or not.

The structure of the differential has many kinds such as mechanical type and hydraulic type. The mechanical type differential can be divided into cycloidal gear type, involute planetary gear type, etc.

a. Planetary gear differential.

Compared with the other type of differential, the involute planetary gear differential has the strength of large bearing capacity, compact structure, small volume, wide differential speed range and high transmission efficiency.

b. Cycloidal gear differential.

The cycloidal gear differential is actually the planetary transmission device with small teeth difference, in which the cycloidal gear is the substitute for planetary gear.

c. Hydraulic differential

Hydraulic differential has the features of large pushing torque and small differential speed. The differential speed can change according to the load.
